A new option for identifying cases filed in the U.S. District Court's,
Justia's beta database is a free service. More than 300,000 cases, filed
since January 2006, are included.
One of its most interesting features is the ability to sign up for an
RSS feed for information on cases on specific topics.
Basic information is provided For each case, including:
- parties
- court in which the case was filed
- lawsuit type (nature of suit)
- date filed
In addition, the site links to news, blog postings, financial reports,
and other web sources about the parties.
Detailed docket information is available from
PACER, a
fee-based system to which the Law Library subscribes. The Justia site
links directly to full docket information in PACER.
