Part of the National Biological Information Infrastructure (NBII), this website and its centerpiece database focus on genetically engineered agricultural products that are intended for food or feed and that have completed all required government reviews.

The database can be searched by the following elements:

  • common name (beet, canola, corn, cotton, flax, potato, rice, tomato, etc.)
  • scientific name
  • trait category (pest resistance, herbicide tolerance, nutritional quality/composition, etc.)
  • applicant (company)
  • keyword

The site also features:

  • a FAQ page
  • a discussion of the roles of the Agriculture Department, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the Food and Drug Administration
  • relevant laws and regulations
