The Washington Policy Center, "an independent, nonpartisan, nonprofit
research and educational organization that does not lobby or endorse
candidates," provides customized bill-tracking and easy-to-read summaries of
bills under consideration in the Washington State Legislature.
A user can create a profile to monitor bills on any of 50 predetermined
subjects, ranging from abortion to water and including civil rights,
communications, criminal law, environment, firearms, insurance, judicial branch,
law enforcement, natural resources, religion/church, taxes, and tribal law. When
new bills are introduced or action is taken on a current bill, the user is
notified by email.
The homepage features counts on the number of bills and amendments introduced
during the current legislative session and on the number of bills enacted into
law.
Legislator voting records may be searched and a user may customize the
homepage to display a legislator's voting record.
