American President, http://www.americanpresident.org/

Eschew viewing or reading partisan political polemics and focus on the Big Picture: the men who have held the nation's top office.

The American President website is sponsored by the University of Virginia's Miller Center of Public Affairs. The website focuses on two aspects of the Presidency:

  1. The Presidency in History and
  2. The Presidency in Action

The Presidency in History section features information for each President, including

  • biographies of the President and First Lady
  • cabinet members, staff, and advisers
  • descriptions and a chronology of key events
  • image galleries and multimedia sources
  • selected links
  • short essays on life before and after the Presidency, campaign and elections, domestic and foreign affairs, family life, and impact and legacy

The Presidency in Action section deals with:

  • domestic policy
  • economic policy
  • legislative affairs
  • national security
  • presidential politics
  • and administration of the government and the White House
