This new federal website is intended to help
citizens learn about proposed regulations issued by federal agencies and to
provide comments on their impact. The site offers a keyword index and a search
by government agency.
Information provided includes:
- name of the specific agency, bureau, commission, department, office, or service issuing the regulation
- subject of the regulation
- text of the proposed regulation in HTML and PDF formats
- citation to existing regulation being amended in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR)
- date of publication in the Federal Register
- date by which comments are due
- link to a form for submitting comments
The homepage also features a list of related links, including
- e-rulemaking websites of federal agencies
- Office of Management and Budget policy directives and rule review information
- the Unified Agenda and Regulatory Plan, a semi-annual list of regulatory developments
- the Federal Register and the Code of Federal Regulations
- a topical guide to regulations
