This new federal website is intended to help citizens learn about proposed regulations issued by federal agencies and to provide comments on their impact. The site offers a keyword index and a search by government agency.

Information provided includes:

  • name of the specific agency, bureau, commission, department, office, or service issuing the regulation
  • subject of the regulation
  • text of the proposed regulation in HTML and PDF formats
  • citation to existing regulation being amended in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR)
  • date of publication in the Federal Register 
  • date by which comments are due
  • link to a form for submitting comments

The homepage also features a list of related links, including

  • e-rulemaking websites of federal agencies
  • Office of Management and Budget policy directives and rule review information
  • the Unified Agenda and Regulatory Plan, a semi-annual list of regulatory developments
  • the Federal Register and the Code of Federal Regulations
  • a topical guide to regulations
