Just in time for holiday shopping, the federal government provides a single site for identifying recalled

  • boats
  • consumer products
  • cosmetics
  • environmental products
  • food
  • medicine and
  • motor vehicles

The website brings together information from the following federal agencies:

  • the Agriculture Department
  • the Coast Guard
  • the Consumer Product Safety Commission
  • the Environmental Protection Agency
  • the Food and Drug Administration and
  • the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration

In addition to providing recalls, safety alerts, and warnings, the website provides convenient ways for citizens to report dangerous or harmful products.

Examples of products subject to warnings or recall are the following:

  • counterfeit Lipitor tablets
  • ignition systems on Suzuki Grand Vitaras
  • on-board diagnostic systems on certain Jaguar models
  • raw sprouts from Oregon
  • thermal circuit breakers on certain on certain Bayliner boats
