| The World Bank Group’s mission is to fight poverty and
improve the living standards of people in the developing world. It is a
development Bank which provides loans, policy advice, technical assistance
and knowledge sharing services to low and middle income countries to
reduce poverty. |
The World Bank's website offers a tremendous amount of information about the
Bank's activities. The following list includes a sampling:
- World Development Indicators, 2003: a statistical compilation dealing with
People, the Environment, Economies, States and Markets, and related data
- descriptions of World Bank activities by region of the world and by
individual country
