World Legal Information Institute, http://www.worldlii.org/

The World Legal Information Institute provides "free, independent and non-profit access to worldwide law." It combines the efforts of the resources and services of:

  • Australasian Legal Information Institute (AustLII)
  • British and Irish Legal Information Institute (BAILII)
  • Canadian Legal Information Institute (CanLII)
  • Hong Kong Legal Information Institute (HKLII)
  • Legal Information Institute (Cornell) (LII Cornell))
  • Pacific Islands Legal Information Institute (PacLII)

Beginning with 240 databases from 20 countries and 43 jurisdictions on 6 continents, WorldLII offers full-text access to cases, laws, treaties, law reform commissions, and law journals. Coverage of additional countries and jurisdictions is planned.

The Catalog feature is a directory of web-based resources leading to other legal and law-related information. Users may search by countries, regions, and subjects. Additional categories include education, law journals, law libraries, lawyers, publishers and booksellers, and research guides.
