EPIC is a public interest research center that focuses on civil liberties, First Amendment issues, and privacy in the electronic age. The executive director, Mark Rotenberg, is a frequent Congressional witness, public speaker, and author.

EPIC uses the courts and Freedom of Information Act requests to obtain information on privacy-related activities of the U.S. government. The organization provides links to sites and documents concerning computer security, crytography, free speech and censorship, and privacy.
