Here, you will find a list of websites that provide legal information and materials (including laws, bills, court opinions, and related documents) and/or links to legal material. Most of these sites are freely available to all users with Internet access. Some sites are UW Restricted, that is, available to University of Washington faculty, students, and staff and visitors to UW Libraries.More

LexisNews: News & Business > Science & Technology > Medical & Healthcare > Heatlhcare News, Current. Covers the last 2 years.
Westlaw: HTHNEWS. Contains health-related news and information from newspapers, magazines, journals, newsletters, transcripts, and wire services.

Public Policy

CQ Researcher: Articles providing topic overviews and links to government and organization sources. Available via the UW Libraries Research Databases.
PAIS. Indexes articles and U.S. government publications on public policy issues. Available via the UW Libraries Research Databases.

Catalogs

Gallagher Law Library: Identifies books in the Law Library. Some may contain links to tables of contents.
UW Libraries: Identifies books owned by all other UW Libraries, including the Health Sciences Library; excludes the Law Library.
Summit: Identifies books owned by 28 college and university libraries in Oregon and Washington (including the Law Library and the UW Libraries). Use your Husky card to check out and request delivery of books from other libraries.
OCLC WorldCat: Identifies books, government reports, online documents, and other resources owned by thousands of libraries around the world. Items not available at Gallagher or via Summit may be requested through Interlibrary Loan.

Amazon.com: Use the Search > Books feature to see specific sections of books discussing your topic. Available only to registered Amazon users.
National Academies Press: Includes publications from the National Academy of Science and the Institute of Medicine.

USA.gov indexes U.S. government reports and information on the Internet.
LexisNexis Statistical. Indexes statistical series and reports from federal and state agencies and various other associations and organizations. Available via the UW Libraries Research Databases.
U.S. Congress, Joint Economic Committee, Tort Reform describes and links to several reports.
U.S. Dep't of Justice, Bureau of Justice Statistics, Civil Justice Statistics contains statistical reports on tort trials and verdicts.
U.S. Government Accountability Office prepares reports responding to Congressional inquiries, including titles such as Medical Malpractice: Implications of Rising Premiums on Access to Health Care (Aug. 2003).
