Professor Ted L. Stein taught at the University of Washington School of Law from 1980 to 1985. Before joining the faculty, he clerked in the Fifth Circuit and served in the State Department�s Office of Legal Adviser.

A specialist in international law, he received the Francis Deak Prize from the American Society of International Law for the best article by a young scholar in 1983. He was appointed to the Executive Council of ASIL.

After his death in a fishing accident in 1985, friends, family, and colleagues established the Ted L. Stein Memorial Fund.
