This form is for use by UW law students only. This includes UW students enrolled in Law School courses. If you are a UW student in a department other than the Law School, you may call or visit the Reference Office or
use email reference through the University Libraries.
Our Reference Office is available to all patrons. If you are not affiliated with the UW School of Law, please call or visit our Reference Office in person. The Reference Office phone number is (206) 543-6794; hours and directions are here. Alternatively, you may wish to use the email or live online reference services of the King County or Seattle public libraries. Two local law libraries provide limited email reference as well.
While we attempt to answer all questions promptly, responses may take up to two business days. If you need immediate assistance, please call or visit the
Reference Office during our regular hours. Before filling out this form, you might want to check our list of legal research guides on the web.
Some questions are too complex to answer via email. We will let you know if your question requires a visit to the
Library. All patrons may wish to review our reference policies which apply to all of our reference services: in-person, phone, or email. We generally will give you suggestions for your own research, rather than
doing the research and presenting you with an answer. For instance, if you say you want to locate articles on a certain topic, we will suggest an appropriate index and perhaps some search terms, but we will not prepare a bibliography for you.
